// Specialty processes

Beyond standard molding.

Top-of-the-line equipment and trained technicians let us tackle the trickiest molding combinations.

Multi-Component (3K) Molding

Three materials or colors combined into a single part in one production cycle.

Liquid Silicone Rubber (LSR)

Flexible, durable, heat-resistant components molded from liquid silicone rubber.

Compression Molding

Premeasured thermoset rubber or silicone pressed and vulcanized into final shape.

Micro-Molding

Extremely small, precise components with intricate geometries and tight tolerances.

Gas-Assist Molding

Pressurized nitrogen hollows out thick sections during injection for lighter, stronger parts.

Insert Molding

Inserts or other materials placed into the mold before the molding cycle.

2K (Two-Shot) Molding

Two injection units and a rotating tool combine multiple materials in one machine.

Overmolding

Mold a rigid substrate, then overmold a second material for soft-touch or sealing.

// Secondary operations

Finished, marked, assembled, shipped.

All finishes meet SPI standards. We take parts the rest of the way — so they arrive ready to use.

Painting & Coating

Improved aesthetics, UV & chemical resistance, durability, and EMI shielding.

Plating

Metallic layers for conductivity, corrosion resistance, and a premium finish.

Pad & Screen Printing

High-quality logos, text, and graphics on curved, flat, or cylindrical surfaces.

Laser Engraving

Permanent, precise, ink-free, tamper-proof marking for branding and serialization.

In-Mold Labeling (IML)

Pre-printed graphics fused into the part for seamless, long-lasting durability.

Ultrasonic Welding

Strong, airtight, watertight bonds with no adhesives or fasteners.

Heat Staking (Inserts)

Securely embed threaded bushings or pins for reusable, reliable fastening.

Heat Staking (Joining)

Reshape plastic posts to form strong, fastener-free mechanical joints.

Drilling & Tapping

Secondary machining to hold tighter tolerances or add threads.

Adhesive Bonding

Clean, durable bonds across dissimilar materials with even load distribution.

Assembly

Snap-fit, fastening, welding, and bonding into a finished, functional product.

Testing & Validation

Custom inspection and reporting — APQP, FAI, PPAP, Cpk, and more.

Packaging & Labeling

Protective packaging and labeling so parts arrive undamaged and inventory-ready.

// FAQs

Injection molding, answered.

Is injection molding a good option for prototyping?

It can be — it depends on your project. For runs under ~10 prototypes, injection molding may not be the most cost-effective route. We're happy to talk through your needs and help you decide if it's the right process.

What is the minimum order quantity?

None. We offer injection molding with no minimum order quantity — order one part or a million.

Do you provide a no-obligation estimate?

Absolutely. As long as you can share your project requirements and part specifications, we'll provide a no-obligation quote.

Once I have a mold, can I reorder from it?

Of course. We maintain your mold and let you reorder parts for the life of the tool. Pull it from your library and run more anytime.

Do you charge inventory fees on my molds?

No inventory fees as long as you order off the mold within 2 years. After that, we'll ship or store the mold at your direction.

Do you provide DFM before I place an order?

Yes — and it's free. You'll get DFM feedback with 3D visualization you can comment on and discuss with a Rewind engineer, all before you place your order.

Do you build quick-turn aluminum molds?

Yes. We build both quick-turn aluminum molds and production-grade steel molds, all in the USA.

When does it make sense to move from 3D printing to injection molding?

Once your volume offsets the mold cost, injection molding is dramatically cheaper per part. We'll provide DFM and mold-architecture options to find the best cost-benefit balance — get an expert involved early to avoid redesign surprises.

What DFM analyses do you provide?

Draft, thickness, and sink analysis on every quote, plus advanced parting-line visualization, side-action analysis, and mold-flow analysis on request.

How long does tooling take?

As fast as 10 days. More complex designs may extend to around 21 calendar days, and very large parts (over ~300mm) can take a bit longer.

How fast can you produce molded parts?

Once materials and molds are ready, the process produces several hundred parts per day.

How do you protect my intellectual property?

Security and confidentiality are top priority from upload to fulfillment. And because we mold entirely in the USA, your IP and your parts never leave the country.
